русской жизни, которые будутъ характерны для пониманія иностранцами
Россіи — тогда Московіи.

Выбравъ эти гравюры, я просилъ компетентнаго П.Н. Апостола составить
къ нимъ описаніе. Нынѣ это изданіе, съ необходимыми комментаріями,
предлагается на судъ читателя.

Думается, Московія въ этихъ, хотя бы немногихъ, «штрихахъ»
закрѣплена.
